Instagram Video Downloader
SnapInsta — Download Instagram Video
SnapInsta is the simplest way to download Instagram videos, reels, IGTV, and photos in HD. Paste any Instagram link, hit download, and the file lands straight on your device — no login, no watermark, no signup.
What is SnapInsta?
SnapInsta is a free Instagram video downloader built for people who want to save Instagram content offline without installing apps, signing up for accounts, or dealing with watermarks. Paste a link to any public Instagram post, reel, IGTV episode, or photo carousel, and SnapInsta returns the original highest-quality file Instagram serves — straight to your device, in seconds.
SnapInsta works in your browser, on any operating system. Whether you're on an iPhone, Android phone, iPad, Windows PC, Mac, or Linux laptop, the experience is identical. There's nothing to install. SnapInsta is a web-based Instagram downloader: you visit the page, paste a URL, click Download, and the file is saved locally. No Instagram credentials ever touch SnapInsta — we only need the public URL you paste, the same content anyone with that link can already view.
SnapInsta supports every public Instagram media format: single videos, reels, IGTV, carousel posts (mixed photos and videos), and standalone photos. Downloads happen on our servers, not in your browser, so resolution is preserved end-to-end. You get the original file Instagram delivered for that post — typically 1080p MP4 for videos and HD JPG for photos.

How to download Instagram video with SnapInsta
Downloading an Instagram video with SnapInsta takes three steps and under ten seconds. The flow is identical for reels, IGTV, single posts, and carousels.
- Copy the Instagram link. Open the Instagram app, tap the three-dot menu on the post you want to download, and choose "Copy link." On the web, click the post and copy the URL from your browser's address bar. SnapInsta accepts any public Instagram URL — post, reel, IGTV, or profile photo links.
- Paste the link into SnapInsta. Return to the SnapInsta box above. Click the input field and paste your URL with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac), or hit the "Paste" button to pull the link from your clipboard automatically.
- Click Download. SnapInsta resolves the link on our servers, fetches the highest-quality media file, and delivers it to your device. For videos, you get an MP4. For photos, JPG. For carousels, each item is listed separately so you can download all or just the ones you want.
SnapInsta never asks you to sign in to Instagram. SnapInsta never asks you to sign up for an account. There are no daily limits, no watermarks added to your downloaded files, no waiting queues, and no premium tier. Every feature is free, forever.
Why use SnapInsta?
The Instagram video downloader space is crowded — and most tools are slow, ad-heavy, watermark-stamping, or require signup. SnapInsta was built to do one thing well: download Instagram videos cleanly, without making you jump through hoops.
- HD quality by default. SnapInsta always pulls the highest resolution Instagram serves for a given post. No quality downgrades, no compression on our end, no "upgrade to Pro for HD" gatekeeping.
- No watermark. Many Instagram downloader apps stamp their logo onto your videos before letting you save them. SnapInsta doesn't. The MP4 you download is bit-for-bit the same file Instagram delivered.
- No login required. Some Instagram downloaders ask you to connect your Instagram account "for better results." That's a privacy red flag. SnapInsta only needs the public URL you paste — nothing else.
- No app install. SnapInsta runs entirely in your browser. No App Store, no Play Store, no APK sideloading. Works the same on phone and desktop.
- Free, unlimited. No free tier with a download cap. No premium plan. Download as many Instagram videos as you want.
- Fast. Most downloads complete in under three seconds. We stream the file directly from Instagram's CDN through our servers, so you never wait in a queue.

What can SnapInsta download?
SnapInsta covers every public Instagram media format. Paste a link and it just works.
- Instagram videos. Single video posts from the feed. MP4 output, original resolution (usually 1080×1350 or 1080×1920).
- Instagram Reels. Short vertical videos. MP4 output, full resolution, audio intact. SnapInsta is a fully working Instagram Reels downloader.
- Instagram IGTV. Long-form videos. SnapInsta streams the full file even when the video is 30+ minutes — there's no length cap.
- Instagram photo posts. Single-image posts. JPG output, full resolution, no recompression.
- Instagram carousels. Multi-item posts mixing photos and videos. SnapInsta lists every item separately so you can download all or pick.
- Instagram profile photos. Public profile pictures in HD — SnapInsta pulls the high-resolution original Instagram stores internally, not the thumbnail.
SnapInsta does not support private accounts or content from accounts that block public viewing. If you can't view the post in a logged-out browser tab, SnapInsta can't download it either. This is by design — SnapInsta respects Instagram's privacy boundaries.
Who uses SnapInsta?
Instagram videos are designed to be viewed in-app, but plenty of legitimate reasons exist to save one offline. SnapInsta's users tend to fall into a handful of recurring patterns.
- Content creators backing up their own work. Instagram doesn't make it easy to download your own videos in original quality once you've posted them. SnapInsta gives you a clean MP4 export for your portfolio, reuploads, or cross-posting to TikTok / YouTube Shorts.
- Marketers and social media managers. Building a swipe file of competitor reels, saving inspiration reels, or pulling reference clips for client decks. Watermark-free downloads matter when you're presenting work.
- Educators and trainers. Public-facing instructional reels from coaches, fitness trainers, recipe creators — SnapInsta lets you save a clip for offline review.
- Researchers and journalists. Archiving public Instagram posts as evidence for stories, building visual research libraries, or preserving content that might disappear if the original poster deletes it.
- Parents. Saving cute reels from family accounts, archiving content from kids' accounts for memory keeping.
- Anyone with bad Wi-Fi. Sometimes you just want to download a video to watch on the train. SnapInsta is the simplest path.
Quality, formats, and file sizes
SnapInsta always returns the highest-quality file Instagram makes available for a given post. We never recompress, transcode, or downscale.
- Video format: MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio). Plays natively on every device and editor.
- Photo format: JPG. Original Instagram CDN resolution.
- Reel resolution: Typically 1080×1920 (full HD vertical). Some older reels run 720×1280.
- Feed video resolution: Typically 1080×1350 (HD vertical feed) or 1080×1080 (square).
- IGTV resolution: Up to 1080p, depending on what the creator uploaded.
- File sizes: A typical 15-second reel is 3–8 MB. A 3-minute IGTV episode is usually 30–60 MB.

Privacy and security
SnapInsta is designed with privacy in mind. We don't store the URLs you paste. We don't store the files we deliver to you. We don't require an account, an email, or your Instagram credentials. The only data we ever receive from you is the public URL you paste — exactly the same URL anyone could open in a browser.
When you click Download, SnapInsta's server fetches the file from Instagram's public CDN and streams it back to your browser. The file passes through our servers but isn't persisted: as soon as the stream closes, nothing remains. No copy. No log entry beyond standard request metadata kept for security monitoring.
SnapInsta is GDPR-aware. We don't use third-party trackers in the download flow itself. The only cookies our pages set are functional (language preference, anti-abuse). We follow the principle of data minimization: if SnapInsta doesn't need a piece of data to deliver your video, we don't collect it.
SnapInsta vs other Instagram video downloaders
We obviously think SnapInsta is the cleanest option, but let's be fair to the alternatives. Here's an honest comparison of how SnapInsta stacks up against the patterns you'll find in other Instagram downloaders.
- vs. apps from the App Store / Play Store: SnapInsta needs no install, no permission grants, no storage footprint. Apps often go stale when Instagram updates their internal APIs; SnapInsta is updated on our side automatically.
- vs. browser extensions: Extensions can read every page you visit — that's a lot of permission for a one-task tool. SnapInsta is a single web page; close the tab and it's gone.
- vs. tools that watermark: Many downloaders stamp their logo onto the bottom corner of your video before serving it. SnapInsta never adds anything to your file. The MP4 you receive is byte-equivalent to what Instagram delivered.
- vs. tools that require Instagram login: Any tool that wants your Instagram username and password is a privacy red flag — and often a violation of Instagram's ToS that puts your account at risk of suspension. SnapInsta never asks.
- vs. desktop scrapers: Command-line tools like yt-dlp work great but require terminal comfort. SnapInsta gives you the same end-result through a paste-and-click interface.
Device compatibility
SnapInsta runs in your browser, so it works on every modern device. No installation, no platform-specific build.
- iPhone / iPad: Open Safari or Chrome, paste the link, hit Download. iOS saves the MP4 to your Files app. Use the Photos app's "Save Video" option to put it in your camera roll.
- Android phones / tablets: Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, Edge — all work. Files land in your Downloads folder, and you can open them in Gallery or any video player.
- Windows PC: Any modern browser. Files save to your Downloads folder by default.
- Mac: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Arc — pick any. Files go to ~/Downloads.
- Linux: Chromium, Firefox, anything WebKit-based. SnapInsta has no platform-specific dependencies.
- Chromebooks: Works perfectly. Downloads go to your local Files app and you can keep them offline or send to Google Drive.
Troubleshooting common issues
Most SnapInsta downloads work first try. When something does go wrong, it's usually one of these.
- "Profile not found" or "Content unavailable." Usually means the post was deleted, the account went private, or the URL has a typo. Open the link in an incognito tab — if you can't see it without logging in, SnapInsta can't either.
- Download fails halfway. Usually network related. Refresh and try again. SnapInsta's servers don't cache failed downloads, so retrying always starts a fresh fetch.
- Wrong file type saved. Some browsers add a file extension based on Content-Type rather than the URL. If you got a .mp4 with no extension, just rename it. The bytes are valid.
- Video plays without audio. Some Instagram reels are uploaded without an audio track on purpose. The MP4 SnapInsta serves matches the original — if Instagram doesn't have audio for that post, neither does the download.
- iPhone won't save to camera roll. By default Safari saves MP4s to the Files app. To get them into Photos, open the file from Files, tap Share, choose "Save Video."
Is downloading Instagram videos legal?
Downloading public Instagram content for personal use is generally fine in most jurisdictions — you're saving something you can already view freely in a browser, just to a different storage location. The grey area is what you do with the file afterwards.
Republishing someone else's Instagram video as your own is a copyright violation everywhere. Using a video without permission in a commercial context (an ad, a paid course, monetized content) is similarly off-limits. Crediting the original creator is the bare minimum if you share a downloaded video anywhere public.
SnapInsta provides a tool. How you use the downloaded files is your responsibility. We strongly encourage respecting creators' rights, following Instagram's terms of service, and reaching out to creators directly if you want to use their work for anything beyond personal viewing.
